Friday was a quick reccy to the London Film and Comic Con (and a quick look see in three Waitrose' for Marmite Summer Hate jars... Sigh... No luck on that score).
I'd not been before and don't think I'd be able to say why because, on paper, it looks awesome. I suspect, partially, it's down to the fact that work takes me (and many students) to so many events I tend to focus on the ones I'm working at (which is very fab and I'm aware how lucky I am in many ways. That said I don't get paid to do them, they clock up a huge amount of hours I can't toil and I generally leave an event barely able to think I'm so tired...)
Anyhow, fortunately LFCC turned out to be utterly awesome :) (and still is I assume... It's still on today and tomorrow. Sadly -for me- sold out as if have been tempted to head back for some more drawing time :) ).
On the train to the show I drew this on my phone using the fabulous ArtRage app. Marmite, again, yes.
Then, during the show, I started to photograph the Cosplayers. Since taking the students to work at these events I've completely fallen in love with the Cosplay world. It's brilliant and creative and extraordinarily friendly. Love it.
Once I'd photographed the Cosplayers I started to edit the photos a little, still using ArtRage. It's a lovely quick process. More often than not I could get the painting done and catch the Cosplayer up to show them the result...
And so on. You can find more on my Flickr (search Paul_Kercal) and I've still got a few pics to paint on.
On the way home, my phone AND the external battery being completely out of juice, I carried on with Snapzilla.
All in all a lovely day. LFCC is a load of fun. Look forward to sending more time there next year hopefully...
